The Truth About Commercial Pet Food
Commercial pet food is quick, easy and convenient. It is also
toxic. Even so called prescription diets are manufactured with
waste from the food industry that did not pass FDA inspection for
human consumption.
The FDA defines meat by products as follows:
Ground up hooves, hides, beaks, entrails, diseased and disabled
carcasses, cancerous animal tissue and blood soaked saw dust from
the floor of slaughterhouses. These “meat” by-products
make up 40% of most commercial pet food. The rest is grain – soy
meal condemned for human consumption due to rancidity, mold, debris,
bacteria – ground corn cobs, peanut hulls (very high in pesticide
residue) ALL NUTRITIONAL WASTE then we have chemical contaminants – farm
animals are fed a heavy mix of chemicals; hormones, growth inducers,
pesticides, antibiotics, vaccines – all these chemicals remain
in the flesh of the slaughtered meat. (Yes, the meat on your dinner
plate included.).
Wait! There’s more. More chemicals must now be added – artificial
flavorings and coloring, sugar, salt and preservatives. One of
the most prevalent preservatives is ethoxyquin. Ethoxyquin is a
rubber hardener and pesticide believed to cause liver and kidney
disease, cancer, immune diseases, deformities and thyroid problems.
